Cleaning Beer Lines
Supplies Needed:
- Beer Line Cleaner (BLC)
- Spanner Wrench
- Brush
- Cleaning Bottle with Hose
- 5 Gallon Bucket (BLC Bucket)
- Small Bowl
Steps:
- Turn off CO2 and Regulator if connected
- Remove faucet using spanner wrench
- Disassemble faucet, brush, and soak in water with BLC in small bowl
- Add one cap of BLC to cleaning bottle with hot watter
- Connect cleaning bottle to faucet shank
- Pump BLC solution through lines into a 5 gallon bucket
- Repeat with clean water to rinse BLC from lines
- Disconnect cleaning jar and pump and reinstall faucet with spanner wrench
- Turn on regulator and CO2
Kegging
Supplies Needed:
- Keg
- Professional Brewer's Wash (PBW)
- CO2
- Sponge
- Siphon
- Sanitizer (StarSan/Iodophor)
- Graduated Cylinder
- Hydrometer
- Thermometer
Steps:
- Place fermenter on elevated surface
- Soak keg with PBW for 30 min
- Sanitize keg and siphon with sanitizer
- Transfer beer from fermenter into keg
- Pull sample of beer for tasting and measurements
- Close and purge keg
- Record observations, temperature, and gravity reading
- Clean and rinse fermenter and siphon
